Dyson DC15 Vacuum Cleaner: The Ball All Floors & The Animal Cyclone

The Dyson DC15 vacuum cleaner born in 2005 was the first Dyson vacuum to replace it’s four fixed wheels with ‘The Ball’. This totally revolutionized the maneuverability of the upright vacuum cleaner.

The Dyson DC15 is available in two different models. The first is the “The Ball” All Floors Upright Vacuum and the slightly better model for pet owners, the Animal Cyclone.

DC15If you are a serious pet owner like I am, you probably learned all the tricks along the way. On my way to being a pro at owning cats, I learned a little secret from my friends across the pond.

Pesky fleas were eating my animals and me, alive. My friend told me that she could never imagine, what with vacuuming each day. I had never heard of such a thing. Us lazy Americans vacuum weekly, maybe biweekly. Perhaps the right vacuum was the answer, she suggested, and was so right.

Hearing little about the Dyson DC 15 Vacuum Cleaner perked my interest. Unlike most vacuum cleaners that hide the dirt from you, the Dyson puts it right out there in view in a clear vacuum sealed tube. If that isn’t an eye opener!

Accustomed to seeing the dirt and hair disappear from my carpet made a believer out of me that my house was clean. The first time I used the Dyson DC 15, I vacuumed for three hours straight! I didn’t think the dirt would ever stop coming.

Saying that, it isn’t the best vacuum cleaner for pet hair I’ve ever used. The new Dyson DC65 Animal Complete is the best vacuum for pet hair on the market today. Also checkout the Dyson V6 Animal Vs Absolute.

The suction of this machine was amazing. Referred to as Root8cyclone technology, a powerful system siphons the air and everything that comes close to its path. You will also find no dusty residue left behind with a lifetime Hepa filter that collects minute particles and keeps them away from your air. Asthma friendly, the five-gallon dustbin provides ample room for dirt to turn into particles right before your eyes and hold securely until you need to dispose of.

If you have never used a Dyson that has a large rubber ball instead of wheels, it may remind you of your first bike ride. You are so used to pushing toys that a wheel that does the work for you just seems awkward. But after a little practice, you will stop fighting the urge to push and turn and just let the machine glide along around corners and under furniture.

Dyson_DC15The telescopic wand is perfect for sucking up those stubborn cobwebs along your ceiling that always seem to stick to everything and the mini turbine head is a real treat for cleaning upholstered furniture and vehicle interiors. Dirt never gets plugged with the whirlwind action and the Dyson DC 15 Animal Vacuum Cleaner also does great on hardwood floors. All I have to do is get close to the edges and the hair from my cats fly toward the machine.

When you look at the price, also look at your room full of gadgets that you have spent money on to keep your home clean. The price of this machine will never equal the money spent in disposable bags, air freshener, carpet rakes, professional cleaners and the variety of dust and dander products you have tried.

Did the Dyson DC 15 Animal Vacuum Cleaner help with the fleas? You bet it did! Those little critters probably thought they had a home for life in my carpet but not anymore.
